Beyond guiding residents and visitors through various outdoor activities, these materials raise awareness of the Atlantic Forest’s rich biodiversity and foster environmental conservation by bringing visibility to local trails and ecological routes.
A special highlight goes to the photograph at the bottom of the brochure, which captures Renato Marchesini ziplining amid nature. Ecotourism: The Continental Area of Santos is the place for adventure: 231.6 km² offering enchanting, challenging trails. The highlight of the Fazenda Cabuçu Trail is the waterfall, approximately 10 meters high, which spills over enormous boulders to form a natural pool. The trail is lined by crystal-clear waters and huge trees, making it an ideal spot for a family outing. The Caminhos de Jurubatuba Trail is done on foot, in kayaks and Canadian canoes. The rich vegetation is home to armadillos, sloths, parrots and toucans, among other creatures.
For those up to it, the Mirante do Caetê trail is a good option. After a steep, 1200-meter climb, visitors are rewarded with dazzling views of coastal rainforest and mangrove ecosystems, the Bertioga Channel and urban areas. Estância Diana offers rural scenery replete with history and natural beauty. The highlight here at this ranch is the Murrah buffalo herd, originally from India. These trips show visitors the immense biodiversity of the Atlantic Forest.
